Grant/Teacher: The Heart of Learning Beats On/Trish McKeeel for Eubanks Intermediate School
Part of the sixth grade Science curriculum is a Biology Unit. As part of this unit of study, each sixth grade student is certified in Adult/Child CPR. This grant provides pig hearts for students to do compressions on so they can see first hand what is happening to the heart during the chest compression step of CPR. We then dissect the hearts and explore all the structures while discussing the function of each as we go.
