The CEF grant given to the Johnson Elementary School Quest program supports the science inquiry
involved in the Texas Performance Standards Project. Because of this grant, thirty-three fourth
grade Quest students will have a variety of science non-fiction ability-leveled books to read
independently and in small groups as they complete the research phase of their enigma project.
The students will also have the opportunity to design science inquiry investigations with the
science equipment purchased by the grant. The overall goal is for gifted fourth grade students to
create advanced products that reflect the curriculum and instructional goals in the Texas State
Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students. We are truly thankful for the opportunity
to better serve our students with the assistance of the Carroll Education Foundation and Perdue,
Brandon, Fielder, Collins, and Mott.
