Carroll Education Foundation's Grant Recipients and Sponsors 2007

Walk Smart for Your Heart is a grant which provides Old Union physical education students with the opportunity to use pedometers. Pedometers are a motivational technology tool that count a person's steps. The students will participate in activities in which they learn the proper use of the pedometers, the various factors that affect the quantity of steps, and the application of basic math concepts such as estimation. In addition, the students will understand the connection between daily physical activity and the number of steps one should take for heart health.
