Carroll Education Foundation's Grant Recipients and Sponsors 2007

Thanks to funding by the Carroll Education Foundation, the CSH Physics department will be able to purchase a classroom set of Vernier dynamics track systems with the optics expansion kit. The dynamics track system comes with a 1.2 m long track, two low-friction dynamics carts, and all the attachments required for a variety of experiments related to Newtonian mechanics. The dynamics track system will be used for labs related to motion, collisions, conservation of momentum, conservation of energy, and simple harmonic motion. The optics expansion kit comes with light sources, lenses with holders, viewing screen, and transmission grating holder. The optics expansion kit will be used for labs related to reflection, refraction, diffraction, interference, and the inverse square law.
