Carroll Education Foundation's Grant Recipients and Sponsors 2009

Tuned In to Learning: A Music-Assisted Curriculum for Exceptional Dragons will impact approximately 87 students in 14 Life Skills and Resource classrooms on 10 campuses. Tuned In to Learning was created by a team of board-certified music therapists to assist students with special needs in achieving educational goals in a variety of areas, such as fine and gross motor skills, social skills, communication skills and academic skills. The curriculum addresses objectives common to many students' Individual Education Plans with music, targeting functional educational outcomes. Each classroom set of Tuned In to Learning includes pre-recorded, personalizable songs with targeted lyrics, a unique pedagogical tool to motivate students, as well as books with full-color photographs and CD-ROMs with additional activity ideas, prinatables, etc. for teachers. We are so pleased the Carroll Education Foundation and Park Place Lexus Grapevine have made it possible for our exceptional Dragons to benefit from this outstanding curriculum!
